Gabon - Africa's last eden!
Gabon is one of the African countries with the lowest population. Almost the entire country consists of dense rain forest and is not for nothing called "Africa's Garden of Eden". Fly with us to this unique fishing spot on Africa's West Coast.
Exemplary expedition schedule:
From your destination we’ll take a flight to Libreville and stay in a hotel for the first night. The next day you will take a domestic flight to Port Gentille and further on to Gamba. Here our speed boat is waiting for you which will take us on a two hours ride to the fishing lodge directly at the Ndogo River.
You’ll fish from boats and the shore for the next twelve full days. In Gabon there will be surf fishing next to fishing techniques such as popper and spin fishing. Usually you’ll fish with lighter spin rods and surface baits on the strong Longfin Jack Crevalles in the morning. This type of Jack occurs in true mass in the lagoon and delivers a brilliant light tackle fishing before breakfast. Depending on the tide, you’ll fish from the afternoon until nightfall in the estuary of the Ndogo. With the heavy spin and surf rods you’ll go after the capital Tarpons, Guinean Snappers, Giant African threadfins and Guitarfish.
During our last visit, we experienced a unique spin fishing at the river mouth. For three hours, every throw brought a fish! Including capital Tarpons, Meagres, Giant African threadfins as well as Guinean Snappers. For us it had been the most spectacular fishing we had ever experienced. Gabon is the perfect fishing adventure and offers a unique backdrop and of course a sensational sports fishing!
After the twelve full days of fishing, you will fly back to Libreville, stay another night in a hotel and fly out the next day back to your home destination.
